Solea Laser Dentistry for Children
Discover more comfortable pediatric dentistry with the Solea Dental Laser, which can reduce the need for needles, drills, and local anesthesia during many procedures.
Comfortable Approach to Pediatric Dentistry
Solea is an advanced dental laser designed to reduce the need for needles, anesthesia, and traditional dental drills during many procedures. For children who experience dental anxiety, Solea laser pediatric dentistry can provide a quieter and more comfortable treatment experience. Solea is a powerful dental laser that can replace the dental drill in many procedures in our practice. While in use, your child may experience virtually no discomfort, vibration, or noise. In many cases, local anesthesia may not be necessary.
More About the Solea Procedure
Your child's mouth is an integrated part of the body, and our focus is on addressing total body health. Our procedures follow these guidelines: we use biodynamic materials that do not contain BPA, we never use amalgam or mercury fillings, we use minimally invasive dentistry for kids, and we use high-tech, low-dose digital X-rays.
What is Solea?
The Solea Dental Laser operates at a unique wavelength that allows it to treat both hard and soft tissues in the mouth. This advanced technology makes laser dentistry for children possible for a variety of dental procedures. Solea removes tooth structure with precision, allowing for treatments such as Solea cavity fillings, crown lengthening, and more. Solea's beam is powered by a strong, computer-controlled, finely calibrated system. The system moves mirrors inside the laser thousands of times per second, allowing for a focal spot as small as 0.25 mm.
Its variable-speed foot pedal also allows the dentist to carefully control the laser throughout treatment, helping make laser dental procedures for kids precise and efficient.
Is Solea Pain-Free?
Many children report little to no discomfort during a Solea procedure, while some experience a mild cold sensation. When used on soft tissue, Solea can help minimize discomfort during and after treatment. For many procedures, Solea can also reduce or eliminate the need for local anesthesia, helping children avoid lingering numbness after their visit. Solea laser dentistry may be especially helpful for anxious children by reducing the sounds, sensations, needles, and drilling associated with traditional dental treatment.
Most dental insurance plans provide coverage based on the procedure being performed. Our team can help you understand your child's insurance coverage before treatment.
